WOW! All I could think was WOW! when we arrived at the Azul Sensatori for our vacation. I had been to this resort in July but I didn’t have my family with me. I booked this resort based on my short July visit, knowing I just had to come back and experience the Azul as a family. I am so glad we did!

We were greeted at the lobby with a glass of champagne and a cool, scented towel. We were escorted to the front desk to check in. We were told that we had been upgraded to two Premium Swim Up Jacuzzi Suites! So, because Premium guests receive a private check in, we were whisked off to the concierge cottage in the Premium section where our check in was handled personally. We were asked to select scents for our sheets, room and soap. We were asked what time we prefer our turndown service. We were asked if there was anything special that our refrigerator could be restocked with. It was a very nice experience!  We got our room keys and were escorted to our room where are luggage was waiting. We were given a tour of the room and learned how everything worked. Then we were left on our own to marvel at the incredible swim up suites we were in!

For those of you who don’t know what a swim up suite is, let me explain our rooms. We entered our room through the main door from the outside. The room itself was super with tons of space and very clean. At the other end of the room was a wall of windows and a sliding glass patio door. Open that patio door and step out onto the private patio with chaise loungers and a table. THEN, step right down from the patio into the winding pool that leads to the main pool and pool bar. We also had a Jacuzzi tub on the patio, outside, as well. Done swimming? No problem, just swim over to your patio and climb out of the water into your own space. So fun!!!

We ate at Spoon every morning for breakfast. This is a buffet, but you can order from a menu or have the chef prepare a specialty omelet for you.  Lunch was set up the same way, only with a tepanyaki and a pasta station to order from. For dinner, we tried Sienna, the Italian restaurant, and Tapaz. Tapaz is very unique. We were seated at a table for 4 with a lazy susan tray in the middle of the table (slab of wood that rotates around.) There are no menus at Tapaz. The chef creates small portions of a variety of dishes that are bought out in 5 different courses. Appetizers, beef, seafood, desserts, etc. We were able to sample so many new items that we had never had before, and would probably have never ordered. The kids were very adventurous and tried things right along with us. It was a great family experience that really opened our eyes to new things!

The pools at the Azul were amazing. We stuck by the Premium pool area where we enjoyed our own pool butler each day. Cold towels, icy water, and fruity drinks were always available. Try the Mexican Mosquito! Yum! My daughter (8) and I had a “Couples” massage in the Spa. A bit steep at $239, but it was a great experience for us to do together. The staff, every one of them, was outstanding. They always smiled, always said hola, always wanted to do whatever they could to make our stay memorable. Absolutely top notch!

I can’t say enough great things about the Azul Sensatori. Planning a wedding? Check out the photos I have of the SKY wedding location. This is located on the top floor of building 3. Simply amazing.
